Dr. Schanen's research program is a component of the Collaborative Programs for Excellence in Autism Research at UCLA. Her research focuses on characterizing a common chromosome abnormality that can lead to autism. She is the Head of Human Genetics Research at the Nemours Biomedical Research Institute in Wilimington Delaware and an adjunct Assistant Professor in Human Genetics at UCLA.
