Pegeen Cronin is a clinical psychologist with an expertise in autism spectrum disorders. In addition to direct patient care with expert diagnostic evaluations, she provides clinical training to the psychiatry and psychology fellows. She is also an integral member of a variety of research projects related to Autistic Disorder. Most recently, UCLA was chosen as one of 8 NIH funded STARRT Center of Excellence in Autism Research to investigate the etiology, intervention, and development of Autism Spectrum Disorders. The UCLA Autism Evaluation Clinic functions as the core assessment center of this grant and will continue to actively seek families to participate in the research. As part of UCLA’s commitment to community outreach and education, Dr. Cronin also provides training to professionals in the greater LA area and throughout the state. She collaborated with the Center for Health Improvement and the Department of Developmental Services in establishing the Best Practice Guidelines for diagnosis and assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
